Welcome ♡
Pixie Dust Botanicals was born from a lifelong relationship with the natural world. From childhood spent in my grandmothers garden to years of exploring herbalism, yoga, nutrition, & nature based living across Russia, Florida, Hawaii, & Colorado. My life has been shaped by nature in all her forms, slowly turning into a creative space built from small pieces of the natural world & the inspiration they bring. Today, Pixie Dust Botanicals is a growing collection of nature inspired creations... blending plants, sparkle, & whimsy into pieces meant to be worn, used, & enjoyed in every day life.
Growing Home...
My childhood was spent at my grandmother's garden, where every corner overflowed with flowers. Lilacs, peonies, roses, daisies…everywhere I looked there was something blooming.
I spent summers outside.
I’d watch ants crawl up peony buds, pretend I was a bee pollinating berry blossoms with a tiny paintbrush, make daily wildflower bouquets for my mom, weave dandelion crowns, press flower petals onto my nails, whistle back & forth with the birds, & declared myself princess of the meadows & forests.
Summer was for scraped knees, buckets of berries, & mushroom foraging with my grandpa. Whenever I came home with another cut, bite, sunburn, splinter, or cough, my grandmother never reached for a medicine cabinet. She reached for whatever was growing nearby. Plantain for a scrape. Yarrow to help stop the bleeding. To her, there always seemed to be a plant growing nearby with a purpose. Long before I ever understood herbalism, I understood that nature took care of us.
I collected insects in my grandpa’s empty matchboxes & proudly showed them to anyone willing to look. Built tiny homes for lizards inside old logs, complete with dining room tables & flower vases. I rescued butterflies from spider webs. One monarch I untangled landed on my shoulder before flying away, then circled above my head as if it had come back to say thank you. Every living thing fascinated me. Even then, I believed every plant, animal, & even rock carried its own kind of intelligence.
Whenever no one was paying attention, I’d sneak off into the forest behind our property, following trails of amanita mushrooms, convinced there was something magical waiting around every corner.
One of my favorite childhood memories was when I was seven. I packed a bag with everything I thought I’d need in the wild, ran away from home, & ended up in a field of wild daisies. I laid there completely content, thinking, No one will ever find me here. It wasn’t fear I felt. It was freedom. Being alone in the wildflowers felt like home. It still does.
Everything changed after we moved to America. As a teenager, I lost my sense of self trying to fit into classrooms, expectations, & systems that never really felt like they were made for me.
School years were a difficult time, where I leaned on unhealthy coping habits just to get through. Feeling more disconnected each day.
Then I became pregnant.
One morning on my way to school, I had an emotional breakdown, realizing I couldn’t continue the path I was on. I turned around & never went to another college class again.
Instead I signed up for a yoga class.
Meditation. Breathwork. Movement. Presence.
That decision changed the course of my life.
After my son was born, I completed my yoga teacher training, pumping milk between lessons, adjusting to a completely new chapter.
Yoga led me towards holistic living. I studied holistic psychology & nutrition, became a plant based chef, coached families on nourishing foods, & started my first business, Eatlighten.
I became a raw vegan, juiced carrots & celery every morning, made raw lavender chocolate, & dehydrated nearly every meal, all alongside my curious two year old.
Every day we wandered outside. I’d admire the plants & wondered what their names were, if they were edible, or if they had any uses. My favorite local cafe hosted a foraging workshop. Foraging?? It felt strangely familiar, a remembering of something I’d always known.
My next dream was to teach yoga on a paddleboard & explore life in Hawaii. For the next decade, I taught yoga in the ocean beside sea turtles, foraged for tropical fruit, & homeschooled my son on farms & beaches, living as close to nature as I could.
Then I felt another nudge. One that made me deeply uncomfortable in my comfort zone. Something felt missing.
A trip to Colorado changed everything. Walking beside a mountain stream surrounded by rosehips, blue spruce, yarrow, & the familiar scent of pine, I felt something I hadn’t felt in years.
Home.
We moved to Colorado so I could live where the plants I loved thrived…& so I could thrive alongside them. I immersed myself in herbalism, finally giving names & a deeper understanding to the plants that had shaped my life since childhood.
Looking back, nature has been the constant thread through every chapter of my life.
I thought my work with plants would focus on herbal remedies, but adornment found me instead. I’ve been wearing flower crowns since I was a little girl & started asking myself - How do I make flowers last longer? How do I carry them when they’re no longer blooming?
Pixie Dust Botanicals.
A place where I can weave together everything I love - flowers, herbalism, art, ritual, curiosity, & childlike wonder into adornments, herbal creations, & nature inspired treasures.
I hope this little corner of the web inspires you to slow down, wander outside, notice the plants growing around you, & reconnect with the same wild, curious spirit that lives within us all.
I’m so glad you’re here.
