Have you ever wondered why a field of wildflowers stops you in your tracks?
Why we tuck blossoms behind our ears, press petals between pages of old books, or fill our home with bouquets?
For as long as humans have walked the earth, we have been enchanted by flowers.
Long before flower shops or social media existed, our ancestors gathered blooms for celebrations, healing, medicine, adornment, & ceremony.
Flowers have accompanied us through first loves, weddings, births, goodbyes, & every season in between. They have been woven into crowns, steeped into teas, & gifted as expressions of feelings too deep for words.
Flowers speak in color, scent, & shapes to call in bees, butterflies, moths, & hummingbirds in for a drink. What we see as beauty is really natures way of communication.
We’ve become part of that too.
Drawn to their magic, softness, & impermanence.
Flowers teach us to notice the present moment, reminding that life itself is seasonal.
There are times to root, times to bloom, times to rest, & times to begin again.
So the next time you find yourself pausing to admire a patch of wildflowers or buying a bouquet at the market… know that you are participating in a love story thousands of years old.
Humans & flowers have been finding each other for a very long time.
And I have a feeling we always will ♡
